Nova Sonicorbiter servers and Rendu players both use versions of Sonicorbiter OS. The Update button will update all installed software and Apps within the major release. When there is a major revision this is how to update
Nova Sonicorbiter v2.5 to v2.7 (Back up your files first. This is a major upgrade)
The upgrade can take quite long time even with a fast internet. Make sure that you have sufficient time to complete the process. Follow the stages exactly. Do not reboot or power off your unit until the upgrade is complete
Go to sonicorbiter.com and enter the Nova Interface. Go to Apps/Software Manager. Click the Update button, wait for it to complete. Then reboot your Nova Sonicorbiter
You are ready to start the upgrade to v2.7
You need to manually enter the upgrade URL
http://<Nova Sonicorbiter ip>/upgrade25.php
So if your Nova IP address is 192.168.1.10 you enter http://192.168.1.10/upgrade25.php into your browser
Once you enter this URL the upgrade will start (The screen may go blank). It may take quite a long time depending on system and network speed. Wait for it to finish! (If in doubt leave for at least one hour)
Once it’s done reboot your unit. Some packages will need to be readjusted so wait 20 minutes before continuing
The file shares need to be rebuilt. Go into Settings/System settings and press Save changes. At this point you can use your Nova Sonicorbiter normally
Nova Sonicorbiter v2.7 to v2.8 (Back up your files first. This is a major upgrade)
The upgrade can take a long time depending on system and network speed. Make sure that you have sufficient time to complete the process. Do not reboot or power off your unit until the upgrade is complete. If the MPD/DLNA Renderer App is installed on your Nova please delete it, from Apps/Software Manager/Installed Apps, before running the upgrade. It can be re-installed when the upgrade is complete
Go to sonicorbiter.com and enter the Nova Interface. Go to Apps/Software Manager. Click the Update button, wait for completion. Then reboot your Nova Sonicorbiter
You are ready to start the upgrade to v2.8

A few seconds after entering this URL the upgrade will start. It can take quite a long time. Wait for it to finish! (If the screen goes blank leave it at least an hour)
Once it's finished reboot and run the 2.8 upgrade again

Once you enter this URL the upgrade will repeat. It can take quite a long time. Wait for it to finish. Once it's done reboot your Nova Sonicorbiter again
The upgrade to v2.8 is complete. You may need to re-install some applications (from Nova/App Manager)
Notes:
Roon 1.8 will run on Nova v2.7 (please upgrade to latest) However, it is recommended that you upgrade to Nova v2.8 for on-going compatibility
For Squeezebox/Logitech Media Server (LMS) users:
BBC iPlayer and iPlayer Xtra is no longer available. Similar capability is now provided by BBC Sounds LMS plugin
LMS Internet radio facilities were reduced following TuneIn losing a court case brought by Sony and Warner
To restore some radio functionality to Logitech Media Server:
Open Apps/Squeezebox Server. Go to Settings (Bottom right of page). Go to Plugins
Enable: Radio Paradise, Spotty for Squeezebox, BBC Sounds, iHeartRadio, Qobuz. Radiofeeds, Radionet, Times Radio. Then press APPLY. To save checking for changes you may wish to enable 'Update Plugins Automatically'
